Every year, the U.S. Department of Justice through its Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention commemorates National Missing Children’s Day with a ceremony in Washington, D.C.  This ceremony honors the courageous efforts of law enforcement, public and private organizations, as well as other individuals who go above and beyond the call of duty to investigate child exploitation and reunite missing children with their families.

This year, we are providing the public with the opportunity to submit an application to participate in the ceremony. Applications are being accepted for the following roles:

• Anthem Singer - Performs the National Anthem at the opening of the ceremony.
• Choir/Chorus - Performs three song selections that demonstrate the ceremony’s theme.
• Keynote Speaker - Delivers a keynote address that correlates with the ceremony’s theme. The keynote address is usually given by a survivor or a family member of a missing or exploited child.
• Color Guard – Presents colors at the commencement of the ceremony

 The Department of Justice will review submitted applications and notify all applicants after a selection has been made. Selected participants are subject to formal background check and final approval by the U.S. Department of Justice.
